NO CRYING TODAY!!

I have anxiously been awaiting to hear the words "no crying today"!! Only took Katelyn 4 days. I am so proud of her. She did cry at home this morning, but when we got in her class, she did not latch onto my leg and scream today. She walked to her chair, sat down and was asking me to stay in the class. She got busy with her play dough and did wonderful. I got a call from the school about Jacob--guess he did not enjoy their music for chapel; drums and electric guitar. I will have to work with him on this. He dislikes loud noise very much!! So, I think it has been a pretty successful first week of school even having a day off from the hurricane. Looking forward to week #2.

School days

Day 2 of school for us.....Monday went wonderful for Jacob. He was only a little teary-eyed as I started walking out the door, but then I had his teacher walk over to his desk and he was fine. She said he did wonderful and had NO problems. He told me he loves this school and is excited to get up in the morning. He thinks he is so big this year because he gets to take a PE bag and change of clothes. He looks so cute in his uniform with his blue shorts and polo.

Katelyn had a very rough first day. She cried the entire day and was exhausted when I picked her up. Today went much better. I was shocked when they told me she hardly cried today. I'd say I was shocked!! She was so proud of herself. I think she will be fine now--she just needed to see that mommy would be there waiting for her when she got out. This school is so much larger than their last school, I think they needed exposure to more kids. Jacob has been acting like a big goof when he gets out of school; they are a lot less strict here, which I like

Seth likes getting all of my attention when big brother and sister are away. He gives me a lot more hugs and kisses now. He say I yuvu, too sweet. I think this school year will be great!!

Orientation was a hit!

Much to my relief, the kids loved the open house day at the school. Jacob was more excited than I could have imagined! He can't wait for Monday to arrive. Katelyn was very happy to be at school, however, I think she might try to bolt from the class on Monday. Daddy will accompany us on Monday for back-up support! Now, what will I do with several hours of quiet time? I guess Seth will help take care of that. We shall see how the first day goes on Monday. I am really hoping we have a smooth first day......

busy week before school

This is the last week before school starts. I've been so busy trying to get everyone ready, get school supplies, get uniforms; which is another story itself, Jacob grew a size since I purchased his uniforms 6 weeks ago, so I had to return everything and repurchase the next size up! Katelyn was so excited to get her shoes this past weekend, she does not want to take them off.

Jacob is really starting to get bored and is actually looking forward to the new school year---I am sure he will really learn to love the new school.

Not too much else going on. Mom and dad are away for a church camp in Pa or as katelyn says "pennsylbania", which she thinks is up in the clouds (does not understand the whole up "north" phrase!)

Seth is turning into a little chatterbox. He blurted out "subway" while we were out driving, which Jacob and Katelyn thought was adorable. They keep trying to get him to say words. Jacob loves hearing him say cracker, which sounds like cRAka. He yells at the dog, heh buc. So cute. I can't believe he'll be 2 in a few short months. He is definitely the most challenging of all 3, I thought he was going to be such an easy child, he sure had us all fooled :)

Katelyn signed up for the fall session of dance/tap yesterday. She only likes Her daddy to take her, she does not let me take her!! She looks so cute in her little ballet clothes. Jay got some nice pictures of her in class.

Gotta get back to my gang now****

Chuck E. Cheese Day

Well, I finally took Jacob and katelyn to CEC today. I have been putting it off all summer long because I really don't like going to that place. It's so germy and little-loud people all over the place :)
Katelyn had a gift card from Aunt Sarah to spend there. She paid for the day today. She's a very generous sister!! Can't say Jacob would have shared like that. Seth stayed home with grandma E, he would have made me crazy chasing him around there!

Finally got my new account w/MetLife up and running. They have sent me several files already!! Yippie!

Jay got something in his eye at work, poor man, he had to have it removed at the Eye Clinic. He said it HURTS!!!

Hoping for a nice, low-key weekend. No more birthday for awhile around here!!!

We have 2 birthdays very close together. Katelyn turned 4 on 7/18, which incidentally is the same day as my mom's birthday. Jacob turned 8 on 8/3. They both had a great day and got to pick whatever they wanted to do on their special days.

Offically a blogger!

I never thought I'd take the time to blog, but I think this will be a great way to look back on things that are happening/have happened in our lives and have a date to put with the events!

We are officially at the end of summer vacation and I am so happy that school is about to resume. Jacob and Katelyn are ready to go back. Katelyn is very excited to be starting K4 this year, Jacob is half-excited, he still is not 100% happy with our choice to switch schools this year, but we feel this is the best thing for the kids. I think Seth is going to have a hard time with his best bud, Katie, being away for half a day. Guess he will have to learn to play by himself, hmmmmm should be interesting. One thing is for sure, mommy is ready for the school year to start. Summertime is expensive!!
